How the Benefits Eligibility Quiz Works

The quiz takes about two minutes and covers ten questions — your service era, discharge status, disability rating, dependent situation, and care needs. Based on your answers, it identifies the federal VA and DoD programs you are most likely to qualify for but may not be receiving.

Most veterans are enrolled in one or two VA programs. The average veteran eligible for five or more. The gap between the two is almost always a matter of awareness, not eligibility.

What Programs the Quiz Checks For

The quiz evaluates eligibility across every major VA and DoD benefit program, including programs that are frequently missed:

  • VA Disability Compensation — monthly tax-free payment for service-connected conditions
  • Total Disability Individual Unemployability (TDIU) — compensation at the 100% rate when disabilities prevent employment
  • Special Monthly Compensation (SMC) — additional payments above 100% for specific severe disabilities
  • CHAMPVA — healthcare coverage for dependents of permanently and totally disabled veterans
  • Aid and Attendance — additional pension benefit for veterans needing help with daily activities
  • Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC) — survivor benefit for qualifying spouses and dependents
  • Survivors Benefit Plan (SBP) — DoD annuity for surviving spouses of military retirees
  • Dependents’ Educational Assistance (DEA) — education benefits for eligible spouses and children
  • VA Caregiver Support (PCAFC) — monthly stipend and healthcare for family caregivers of disabled veterans
  • State Benefits — property tax exemptions, tuition waivers, and other state-level programs stacked on top of federal benefits

What Happens After You Complete the Quiz

After the final question, you’ll enter your email to receive your personalized benefit summary. The summary lists the programs you appear to qualify for, a plain-English explanation of each, and the estimated monthly or annual value where applicable. Each benefit links to a detailed guide so you know exactly what to do next.

Your email is added to the MilitaryBenefitGuide.com list. We send periodic updates when benefit rates change, new programs become available, or eligibility rules shift — nothing else. You can unsubscribe at any time.

A Note on Accuracy

The quiz is a screening tool, not a legal determination. It identifies programs worth investigating based on common eligibility patterns — your actual eligibility depends on your complete service record, disability history, and VA file. When the quiz flags a benefit, take it as a signal to look deeper, not as a guarantee of approval.
